Our History

A little on how God's been working in and through Grace Church

In 2011, a small group of us found ourselves without a church. Through various connections, we discovered that there were other people in a similar situation.  A wider group of us started meeting informally in various living rooms throughout the summer.

As the group grew, we started meeting in a garage and adopted the moniker "Garage Church". We would meet in the garage and spill out into the drive-way. We continued to do this well into the autumn.

From the initial group,  a core leadership of five couples joined together to form The Launch Project. We decided that The Launch Project would become a church built around the Nine Marks of a Healthy Church as found in the book with the same name Mark Dever.

The first Sunday of October in 2011 was our official launch and we started meeting at the Elk’s Hall on 30th Street NE in Salmon Arm. Later that fall we had a naming party and the name Grace Church was chosen.

In March of 2012, we needed more space for the 30 or so children attending, so we moved to the Downtown Activity Centre.

We now meet at the St. Andrew's Church building on Sundays at 9a.m.
